Experimentation

Firstly, I edited my painting and added splats to be stylised like Georgina Luck's work.

I then added an ink painting of a jar. The quality of lighting didn't necessarily matter as I was planning to threshold it.

I put it into threshold.

I then added the strawberry behind this layer. This gives the impression the strawberry is in the jar, although it's got a rough essence with the strawberry not completely inside the jars outlines.

I then edited the colours of the strawberry slightly.

This is the finished outcome, however I wasn't completely happy and felt it was 'bland'.

I added a coloured background, choosing green to complement the red of the strawberry, and light to contrast the highly saturated reds.

I then thought the black outline of the jar was too harsh so changed this to white.

This was the finished outcome, however I still felt it wasn't how I wanted it. I thought the green was too close in shade to the leaves green.

I then changed the colour of the background to a more yellow biased green and lightened it slightly.

I then viewed this and I was happy with it apart from the scanned paper white of the strawberry I felt needed to be transparent.

I selected the colour using the magic wand tool and deleted it.

This is the outcome and I am happy with it. I will be using this process for my final pieces of this project.
