Copy and Emulation

This is the original piece I am copying. This copy and emulation was to experiment with technique.

These are my free hand drawings of the copy.

Here are the swatches I used including textures.

I filled the drawings in Illustrator using the pen tool and sometimes a gradient, both linear and radial.

This is all of the filled illustrations.

I duplicated the part of the illustration that needed a texture placed on top so that the size matched. I then changed the fill colour to the textured swatch. This texture was white but slightly transparent so that the colour underneath was visible in the texture.

This is my finished version.

This is my emulation, using the same process but my own designs and colours.
